I was recently in Maine for my brother's college graduation, and while I was there, I stopped into a small general store to purchase a few stamps, a tea kettle, and one or two other sundries. As I was leaving, my eye was caught by a pyramid of jars, all of a golden-blue hue. Now you may think that there is no such thing as golden-blue, but that can only mean one thing: you have never tasted Stonewall Kitchen Wild Maine Blueberry Jam.I bought a jar, needless to say, and tried it almost as soon as I got home. The label recommended spreading some on a freshly toasted brioche, so I swung by the Silver Moon Bakery, bought a small brioche(plain -- not cream cheese and currant or raisin and walnut), cleaved it in two, and warmed it for a few minutes in the toaster. It came out all golden-brown, and I covered it with jam, and tore into it. It was a treat for the gods! I quickly whipped up some eggs, rinsed off some fresh strawberries, poured myself a tall glass of cranberry juice (100% juice, thank you very much), and feasted!
